Early Engineering

Using the LEGO Early Engineering kit (9656) (this kit includes Duplo bricks), students in grades K – 2 will apply an investigative and exploratory approach to help understand the operation of simple and compound machines in everyday life, through the use of gears, wheels and axles, levers, and pulleys.

What You’ll Learn & Create

Using the LEGO Early Engineering kit and other materials, students will connect science/engineering concepts to their everyday lives through the construction of fun and engaging projects such as a Spinning Top, a Seesaw, a Raft, a Car Launcher, a Measuring Car, an Ice Hockey Player, a Mechanical Dog, and a Pinwheel.

• Mac: Mac OS X 10.7 or higher
• Chromebook/mobile device compatible 
• The Lego Early Simple Machines kit will be shipped directly to the student in August and $150 will be deducted from his/her Tech Allowance
